Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team Challenge

Welcome again to a new Digistamps 4 Joy challenge, the last one for the year and my last one.  I have made the difficult decision to not renew my DT commitment for another term as I need to attend to other matters but please continue to pop into the Digistamps 4 Joy blog to see what Mel and her new Design Team are up to.

The challenge is simply "Anything goes".  A really easy challenge for you to enter, so why not jump in and enter a project, you stand a chance to win 3 digistamps of your choice.  Pop into Digistamps 4 Joy too see all the lovely images available.

I finished putting up my Christmas tree on Sunday.  We have a lovely big tree and I have collected Christmas decorations from all over the world and crafty friends have made me some beauts.  It is a nostalgic task for me as I am reminded of shopping at Harrods, in China, Knysna and many other favourite holiday destinations as well as the many special friends whose work also gets hung on the tree.  So I decided to make a quick and easy decoration today.  If your tree is looking a little sparse why not create your own quick tree ornaments.  For this one I used the Fleur De Lis spellbinders die  cut out twice from thick card, I glued the ribbon between the 2 layers and offset them.  One of my favourite images from Digistamps 4 Joy called Starkeeper is the focal point and I coloured her with Promarkers and cut her out with a circular Nestabilities.  She is matted onto a red scalloped Nestie circle and to finish off the ornament I added some tiny bling flowers that look like stars and will catch the light from the Christmas lights.

Have a great day!  I am off to plan our Christmas Day lunch and draw up the food shopping list for the long weekend.

Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team Challenge

Join our latest challenge at  the Digistamps 4 Joy blog where you will stand a chance to win free digistamps.  The new challenge is "Anything but a card" so I decided to make a gift box.  I had lots of fun making my box as I wanted to incorporate a card with it and ended up with an easel card on top of the matchbox.  The scrapbook paper is from Papermania and the Christmas tree from the Digistamps 4 Joy store.  I have coloured the image with Promarkers and a gold pen.  The sentiment is a freebie from Birds cards and I used lots of bits and pieces from my stash.  The drawer handle is a charm mounted onto the drawer with foam tape.  The flourishes were cut with a Marianne's Design die, there is a little pearl star in the centre of the flower.  The layers of paper are shaped with a decorative corner punch and the leaves are punched with a Punch Bunch punch (don't try saying that quickly).

Digistamps 4 Joy are having a Design Team call for the period 1 January to 30 April 2011 for further details pop into the blog here and don't forget to download the monthly freebie from the store, it is a cute little girl this month.

The Design Team are very appreciative for the kind comments that you leave for us.  Have a fabulous day, it is such a stunning summer day in Cape Town!

Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team Challenge

Welcome back to another Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team challenge.  Wow, we have had such a huge response to our last couple of challenges and lots of free digistamps have been given away.  Pop on over to the Digistamps 4 Joy blog to have a look at the cards entered in the last challenge over the last 2 weeks and to enter your card to the new "Feather" challenge.

I have used the "Flowers in her hair" digistamp that you can purchase from the Digistamps 4 Joy store.  I love pretty digi's with beautiful faces, so this one is just up my street.  She is coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment is one that I computer generated to fit the Nestabilities shape.  The flourish is a Marianne's Design die cut and the scalloped edge is a Doodlebug paper frill.

Thank you for the kind comments that you leave for the Design Team and I.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team Challenge

Hello again!  Can you believe that another 2 weeks has passed again?  Here is a new Digistamps 4 Joy challenge for you to join in, you may win digistamps of your choice if you do.  This fortnight's challenge is "Inspired by Christmas"  so pop along to the Digistamps 4 Joy blog to enter.
My card is made with the digistamp Star Keeper, she is so versatile as she can be used for Christmas or other occassions.  I coloured her with Promarkers and a Sparkling Silver Uniball pen which is just fabulous for adding a touch of glitter to her chains and stars.  She is printed onto Opale Wove White Shimmer card that I cut out with a Nellie Multi frame, the edges of the oval are sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent Crimson and there are lots of frosted pearls glued around the edge.

The base card is white shimmer card, dark green cardstock is matted onto it and overlaid with white card embossed with Sizzex snowflakes and W & M paper which is punched with a Fiskars punch.  The large snowflake is from the Spellbinders Create a Flake 2 set with a silver snowflake charm in the centre.

Thank you for popping by, I appreciate all the great comments that you leave for me.  Please remember to visit my fellow Design Team members and don't forget to enter a card into our challenge.

Please upload your cards following the sketch and using Digistamps 4 Joy images at the Digistamps 4 Joy blog and you stand a chance to win one of the three random draws for free digistamps.

Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team Challenge

Our Digistamps 4 Joy Think Pink challenge this month is very close to my heart as I have a number of friends battling breast cancer at the moment.  This is my creation to remind people that October is breast cancer awareness month.

I have used the Gypsy digistamp (one of Jen Leeflang's creations) for this challenge as well as the "Think Pink" sentiment which is part of this month's freebie digistamp.  She is coloured with Promarkers.  The scrapping paper is punched with the Martha Stewart Doily lace punch and the flourishes are die cut with Marianne Designs dies.  The sentiment is layered on Nestabilities cut outs.

Please pop into my fellow Design Team members to see their creations.  We all love reading the comments that you leave for us.  Thank you for visiting our blogs.

Digistamps 4 Joy Design Team Challenge

The next challenge on the Digistamps 4 Joy blog is to use something recycled on your card.  Three cards submitted to the challenge stand to win free digistamps, so if you want to earn free stamps get cracking, you have 2 weeks to enter and it is really easy.  If you need guidance with submitting your entries please shout.

I really enjoyed making my card with Spring Fairy, she is coloured with Promarkers which I love using on digital and rubber stamps.  The flowers in her hair are flowersoft and Ice Stickles and she also needed a touch of glitter on her wings.  I haven't made a vintage look card for a while so jumped right in with a doily that I sponged with Distress Ink Antique Linen.  I also sponged all the layers of my card and the flourishes with the same ink. The flourishes are die cut with a Marianne Design Die LR0116.

The card is embellished with lace, pearls and flowers that I made with telephone directory pages and tissue paper.  I taught these flowers at World Card Making day last year and had not made them since then.  If you want a step-by-step tutorial let me know. The butterfly is punched with an Upikit punch out of the pages of an old book.  The flowers and butterfly are sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid to add some colour.

Pop into my fellow Design Team members to see what they have made for the challenge.

Digistamps4joy Design Team

Happy Spring Day, although in Cape Town it still looks and feels like winter!

I have been dying to share some great news with you but had to wait until 1 September.  I am very honoured to have been selected to join the Design Team of our first local digistamp store - Digistamps4joy.  Thank you Mel! Join her blog and facebook group to play along in the upcoming challenges and be part of the fun.

I found our first task a challenging one.  We were given this photo from an interior designer and had to find the inspiration for our card - using the colours and patterns in the room.

Funky Kate is such a "cool" cute image and I have coloured her with Promarkers - cocoa, sandstone, purple, azure, hot pink, pastel pink and Copic E00.  The edges of the white Nestabilities circle are sponged with Vivid purple and the flowers are made with a Cuttlebug die and mounted with foam tape.  I have Cuttlebugged the striped paper with circles.  Hope you like my card!
