Rubber stamped card
Happy Monday! Hope you have a good week!
Our club night theme for August was to make an ATC with the letter H. I chose this cute Hawaiian girl which I have coloured in Promarkers. I just love my Martha Stewart Doily lace punch!
Thanks for taking at peek at my blog!

ATC - "G" is for ...
I am sharing the ATC that I made for our club night meeting this month. I really enjoyed making this one! I love the green and pink combination but seldom use it. The little girl stamp is from Crafty Secrets and I coloured the image with Tombows and Aquarelle pencils.
Have a great week!

ATC - Time challenge
After another bout of ISP problems I am on the brink of parting ways with Atlantic/Vox. I am lucky enough to now have a few minutes access to the internet to upload this entry. Hope all my fellow South African's enjoyed the long weekend!
This is my entry to another ATC challenge that I hosted on our RSA group. The theme being time.

I've been published
I've been spring cleaning (or should that be autumn?) with the focus on paper - clearing out the filing cabinet, sorting magazines etc and as a result there is plenty of recycling. A while ago I was asked for a list of the times that I have been published and I did not have one. So as I am sorting through magazines I am taking photos of my work published, am making a list and will share these with you
In the September/October 2009 issue of Craftwise three projects appeared:
I love Chocolate ATC http://dkhdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/07/artists-trading-cards-i-love-chocolate.html,
"A" is for ... ATC http://dkhdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/04/atcs-artists-trading-cards-i-just-love.html
We are celebrating another long weekend in South Africa which is fabulous!Hope you have a great weekend! I am feeling very satisfied with my decluttering, what a wonderful feeling!

ATC - Paper flower challenge

Hello everyone! I am pleased to be back after having no internet for a week. My internet died in a big way - Telkom issues, the Modem gave up and my ISP had serious technical problems, so after a frustrating week of PC issues I am thrilled to be back and am busy waiding through 450 e-mails and have decided that I will not catch up on blogs, Facebook etc. Thank goodness blogging allows you to load posts ahead of publication so there were posts on Saturday and Monday when I was off-line.
On our RSA group I am hosting a swap called Challenge: Paper flowers ATC. I was concerned that there only seemed to be big swaps on the go where we were required to make 20 or so cards all the same - a very daunting task for a lot of people that have time or budget constraints and also for new stampers. So I proposed a "swap" where you make 1 ATC and upload the photo to our yahoo group. I will be doing a random draw later for the person who will receive all of the ATC's loaded. The group will also vote for their favourite ATC and that lady will get a small gift.
This is my entry to the challenge, your ATC had to have a paper flower on it somewhere. I have used a Crafty Indiduals stamp for the background and the film strip picture is from Stamp-It.
Thank you for all the great comments that I received during my week away from the cyberworld, they are much appreciated!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

ATC - "L" is for leaves
Here is my contribution to the alphabet swap letter L. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one. I am really having fun "playing" with my Adirondack acrylic daubers that Amanda introduced us to at World Card Making Day. I am already thinking about the next exciting 2010 WCMD as the last one was fabulous!
I used lettuce and copper daubers on cream cardstock to create the background and overstamped it with 2 PSX leaf stamps in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate and Coffee Bean inks. I tore the page of an old book and glued it to the ATC with an old South African postage stamp which was cancelled with a post office stamp from Dark Room Door Venetian collection. The edge of the card was sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate and it is mounted onto brown textured card.

ATC - "K" is for key
I recently took part in another alphabet ATC swap hosted by Penny. I was not happy with my creation of this ATC but sometimes it goes like that. We had to make 18 of these. The door stamp is from Crafty Individuals and is stamped in Brilliance Coffee Bean and the edges of the card are sponged with the same ink. The key is from the Royal Langnickel mini clear set called Journey and is stamped in black Brilliance. The K is computer generated and punched out with a large circle punch and mounted onto the ATC with foam tape. The images are mounted onto black cardstock. Unusually I have not used ribbon, flowers or bling to embellish my work, perhaps that is why I was not happy with it as I love the pretty bits.

ATC Christmas
I forgot to blog this Christmas ATC that I made for a few friends in December. The stamp is from Crafty Individuals and is stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate, the edges are sponged with red and it is mounted onto copper card and then onto white base card. The braid is embellished with pearls and red diamante.

I've been published
Thank you so much for leaving comments on my blog and also e-mailing me privately. Your feedback is much appreciated as I strive to make my blog interesting and inspirational!!!

Last year I hosted 2 swaps that have both had some of the artworks published in our local Craftwise magazine. I always get the participants to make an extra card, tag etc and I send it into the mag. My thinking behind this is that it encourages our craft to grow in South Africa and is also a good advert for our local manufacturers who will hopefully continue to produce new stamps for us every year.
It is difficult to take photo's of glossy magazines in good light without reflection, and the colour quality was not that great in this Nov/Dec issue so I apologise for the poor photos.
The top one is the Luscious Lime ATC swap. Nine of the nineteen cards were published, mine is the second one from the left in the bottom row (with a Craft Inidividuals butterfly image).
The second photo is of the Altered Embroidery tag swap, 10 of the tags were published and the completed booklet. My tag is the cover of the booklet with a Craft Individuals image of a girls face in pink and lilac with micro beads and ribbon.
Have a great day!

Forest Floor ATC's
Hello again, Happy New Year! Now that the really busy season of cooking/entertaining/socialising has come to an end it is time to turn some attention to my favourite hobby stamping. It is 37 degrees Celsius outside today, so I am trying to stay indoors as much as I can, but we are going to the beach later for a picnic supper which I must go and prepare in a few minutes.
I am sharing an ATC with you that I made for a swap late last year. The theme was "Forest Floor". The stamp is from Dark Room Door, stamped in Brilliance pearlescent chocolate onto shimmery cream card which is sponged around the edges with the same ink. The cream card is matted onto green and then brown cardstock. The finishing touch is portion of a Cuttlebug die cut and embossed brown maple leaf layered onto maple leaf cut out of an old book and sponged in brown.
If you want to see some more of the ATC's have a look at this site.

ATC - "E" is for Elegance
I really enjoyed making this set of 6 ATC's for our club night this week. I used a Great Impressions stamp of a beautifully elegant dress that I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Ink and coloured it with white Lumieres. The image was matted onto black and then onto the white ATC. I used a Spellbinder Fleur De Lis Shapeabilities in my Cuttlebug, which I cut and embossed in black card and then cut the lacy square in half and glued it to the left hand side of the ATC. The design is embellished with lots of little flat backed pearls and a strip of velvet ribbon.
Hope you have a great weekend and get lots of time to be creative! I have 4 swaps that I am participating in and they are all due around mid November, so I have to start stamping up a storm.

ATC - Perfect in Pink
I recently hosted a "Perfect in Pink" ATC swap in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, this is a recurring swap that I host every year where the theme is always pink. This swap was very oversubscribed and unfortunately I had to close it when we reached 24 participants as I had said a maximum of 18 ATC's in the swap proposal. Next year I will not close it at a specific number as so many of us have been touched by Cancer personally and the e-mails that I received were very touching.
I chose a bright pink for my ATC and the image is a Crafty Individuals one stamped in Vivid pink ink. The embossed card is made using the Impressabilities Flourish and I have embellished the card with a Chinese bling cellphone sticker.
I hope you are having a relaxing Saturday and getting some time to stamp. My life seems to be a little hectic at the moment with not much time to spend stamping and with 5 weeks left of this school year things are going to get even worse.

"For the Boys" ATC swap
Happy Monday everyone!
Here is another ATC swap that I participated in recently, called "For the Boys". The 21 ATCs had to be specifically "boyish", that is, they could not have any unisex themes like leaves, sea etc. They needed to have an image of a man/boy. I realised that I have very few images that I could use, so I had to settle on a Darkroom Door stamp from the Venetian collection. I stamped the image on shimmery silver card, mounted it on turquoise card and then onto scrapbook paper and navy card. To finish it off I embellished it with 3 mini dewdrops.

ATC- Thank you

Happy Monday to you all! Hope you had a great creative weekend!
I made a number of Thank you ATC's recently for stamping birthday presents. Here my base card is white and is overlaid with Scrapbooking paper. The image is a gorgeous one - very delicate from Inkadinkado, it is a $2 clear stamp. I stamped it with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate, the flowers in the frame are coloured white with an Inkssentials Opaque Pen and the flowers on the flourishes are glitter glued with Stickles crystal ice. The card is finished off with braid and a mulberry paper flower

Artist's Trading Card - "G" is for garden, girl, green

Why are the weekends always so short?
I am currently hosting a "Luscious lime" ATC swap which closed last week and this week my "Altered Embroidery Bobbin swap" is due. So over the weekend I had fun finishing my 25 bobbins and will post pics once the swaps have been posted.
This is the last alphabet ATC for this round. Unfortunately I did not sign up for the H, I, J series due to time constraints. I have too many swaps on the go at the moment and we seem to be rushing into the silly season with great pace, so had to reign myself in.
The background image is another one from the Tim Holz set that I posted about in the "F" atc. It is stamped with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate. The girls face is from Crafty Individuals and is stamped with the same ink. The card is completed with sponging, layering with yellow and green Bazzill card, ribbon and a mulberry paper flower

Artist's Trading Card - "F" is for flowers, figures, flourishes

Phew thank goodness it is weekend! Although the family has been up and about this week after our swine flu the previous week, I am still feeling very tired and am looking forward to chilling a bit over the weekend. And the bonus is that we are going to have a few beautiful weather days.
Here is another alphabet ATC, this one is "F". I recently bought this Tim Holz set of stamps from Frantic stamper - it is a really great set as I will use all of the stamps. I often find that I buy sets and then only use a couple of the stamps from it. The image is stamped with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate onto scrapbooking paper. This is mounted onto chocolate brown card and embellished with bling and swirl die cut with my Cuttlebug.
