Artistic envelope swap

I recently took part in another Artistic envelope swap hosted by Rosemarie.  The theme was Spring and we had to post on 1 September.  All the participants should have received their envelopes by now so I can share mine with you.  The floral swirl is a Stampendous clear stamp that I bought from Frantic stamper, it is stamped with Kaleidacolour pastel ink.  The words are from an Inque set, also from Fran and they are stamped in Vivid pink and lavender.  The butterfly is one of my favourite stamps, it is a Wanda stamp and I have used Vivid aqua ink for them.

My "Pink Heart" ATC swap is completed.  This is a swap that I host annually for Breast Cancer awareness month and I spent hours last night swapping out and parceling up 28 sets of ATC's. I just need to pop into the Post Office this morning to send them out.

My preparations are in full swing for World Card Making Day on 2 October.  We have had some fantastic donations from vendors in South Africa and I am really looking forward to the day!

I have lots of new products coming in all the time and will try and load a whole lot more on my shopping page later today.  Some really beautiful dotted and striped card arrived yesterday as well as some adhesive dots.  Have a happy day, thanks for popping by!

Artistic Envelope - Winter

I recently took part in another Artistic Envelope Challenge, this one is winter. The envelope is coloured with Adirondack Acrylic daubers - Pool and Sailboat blue which I applied to a wet sponge and then ran the sponge over the envelope for a soft effect. The stamps are from PSX and Inkadinkado and are stamped in Brilliance black. The snowflakes are brightened up with a touch of Stickles glitter glue.
My children's school term ends today for a long winter holiday because South Africa is hosting the World Cup Soccer tournament. Have a happy day!

Artistic Envelope - Autumn

Here is the completed altered envelope. You have seen in a previous post how I did the background with Adirondack acrylic paint. I then overstamped the cream envelope with a Paper Artsy tree and Basic Grey Flourish in Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate ink. The Hero arts leaf and PSX acorn are stamped in Brilliance Coffee Bean. The edges of the envelope and the die cut leaf are sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate ink.

Have a fabulous weekend, it is the last one before our children go back to school on Monday.

Artistic Envelope - Autumn

I addressed the envelopes using Cuttlebug leaf die cuts, here are the leaves in the various stages of preparation. Unfortunately the photo is not a good one as I took it at night. Leaves die cut and computer printed, with the edges sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate and the final stage is embossing the veins of the leaves

Artistic Envelope - Autumn

Here is a photo of the technique that I used for the background on my envelope. I used 3 shades of Adirondack Acrylic daubers - butterscotch, terracotta and copper. I decanted a little paint into 3 Ranger mini mister bottles added water and misted the envelopes with the paint.

Artistic Envelope - Autumn

Hope you all had a great long Easter weekend with plenty of time for carding! I spent some time making my 15 Artistic envelopes for our swap. They have to be posted this morning so that they make the first postal collection so here is a sneek peek. I will post a full photo later in the week when all the participants have received theirs. I enjoy the challenge of creating without using ribbons, flowers and embellishments which I always seem to use on my cards.

Have a happy day!

Artistic Envelope Challenge

This is my contribution to an Artistic Envelope challenge. 15 ladies participated and we had to decorate a C5 envelope for each one of them and one for a local magazine for possible publication. They were all posted on 15 February and everyone should have received their by now.

The images are from a Dark Room Door set of red rubber stamps called Venetian collection. I love the quality of the stamps as the images come out so incredibly clearly and are very detailed. I am able to supply you with Dark Room Door stamps if you want any. The black images are stamped in black Brilliance.

After World Card Making Day in October last year I was very taken by the Adirondack Acrylic Paint Daubers and got a whole lot for Christmas from my family. But life has been so hectic that I had not used them yet and this was a good opportunity to try them out.

I painted white card with the Lettuce dauber and over stamped it with black Brilliance and a frame stamp. I cut the frame out and mounted it over the computer printed address on the envelope. I also coloured wording by dabbing the dauber sponge onto the stamp and quickly stamping it onto the envelope. The paint dries quickly so you need to work fast when stamping with it.

Artistic Envelope Challenge

Here is a little sneak peak of my Artistic Envelope challenge that I completed last week. I had to hold onto them until Monday 15th when everyone posted them so that we all receive them at more or less the same time. I will post a full picture next week.
Have a great day!
