Rubber stamped card

Happy Monday everyone!  It is another perfect day in Cape Town.  I managed tick many things off my list this weekend but unfortunately did not make many cards.

I love this stamp from Penny Black, the image is coloured with Promarkers and the edges are sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent orchid. I used my corner rounder punch to soften the corners of the two top layers of card.  Mega curved rectangular Nestabilities shapes complete the frame around the image.  The "For you" stamp is from an Inkadinkado inchie clear set called Greetings/Salutations which I purchased from Frantic stamper, it is a useful set as it has lots of small sentiments ideal for fitting into little Nestie or punched shapes like the oval one that I have used.  The card is finished off with organza ribbon, a fabric flower and punched leaves using a punch from Punch Bunch.

Life is interfering with my crafting/blogging time at the moment.  Both my children are involved in a big drama production of "Beauty and the Beast" at school with the run starting with the charity show tonight.  Life also always seems to speed up at a rate of knots at this time of the year until after New Year.

Watch out for the new Digistamps 4 Joy challenge which is coming on Wednesday and if you were planning to enter the last challenge you need to get your card up quickly, you stand the chance of winning free digistamps.

Thanks for popping past my blog and for the comments that you leave for me, I so enjoy reading them!

Digistamped card

Happy Friday!

My father-in-law and step mother-in-law are celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary next week and I made this Sweet-pea card for them.  He is also celebrating his 85th birthday next week, so I will be posting that card on my blog soon. The digistamp is coloured with Promarkers and I've used my Nesties and a Martha Stewart punch on the card.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Nicholas is away on a hockey tour for 2 days so our house will be quiet.

Rubber stamped card

What a glorious day in Cape Town today, it reminds us that Summer is around the corner, but I am sure we will have some more cold wintery weather soon.

We have a very special stamping friend in Durban called Lela.  Her dear husband George celebrated his 90th birthday yesterday and they celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary later in the month.  This is the card that I sent to them for both occasions.  The butterfly stamp is from Crafty Individuals and the wording stamp is from an Inkadinkado inchie set.  I have used square Nestablilities, rectangular Nesties and the Fancy Tag die from Spellbinders.

Another Durban friend Hayley has just started a blog, so pop on over to have a look at her beautiful work,  her link is under South African Papercrafters.

I have been spring cleaning my office and have re-organised my Spellbinders so that they are more accessible.  Each set is now on a ring and hanging on cup hooks under a shelf.  So maybe they will be used more often now.

Have a wonderful day!

Chunky Book pages

Happy Monday everyone!
Here is the reverse of my chunky book page. I always like to put a quote to ponder on the back of my page as it makes paging through the completed book very interesting and sometimes entertaining. This quote is from an unknown author and reads: " Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece."
The rose background is a Photo stamp from Darkroom Door stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid. The quote is printed onto Lables 11 Nestabilities and the beautiful scrolls are from the Spellbinders Fancy tags set and embellished with pearls.

Chunky Book pages - Cuttlebug book

Here is another chunky book page that I made for the Cuttlebug book. My Cuttlebug is the best papercraft item that I have ever purchased and I still love using it!
I used 4 different embossing folders and the oval Nestabilities on my page. For a change no stamping.
Have a wonderful day, it is nearly weekend!!! Our family is in the middle of exam preparation, roll on 27 May when they are finished!

Birthday card

Yipee, it's almost weekend!

I am sharing another birthday card with you today. The main image, in the circle, is a wood mounted rubber stamp from Just for Fun, it is stamped in black and sponged lightly and mounted onto another circle of red card and then onto a black scalloped circle, all cut out using Nestabilities. The oval Nestabilities were used for the birthday wording and that stamp is from our local company Best Rubber stamps. The matted images were mounted onto red card that has been stamped with the gorgeous Basic Grey flourish edges set. The red is matted onto white and then black folded cardstock. The card is completed with dotty organza ribbon and paper flowers.

Twinchie

This is my contribution to our club meeting. We had to make a Valentine's Twinchie, which is a flat card that measure 2 x 2 inches. I have once again used a Crafty Individuals stamp, I have really used this stamp a lot! The image is stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate, cut out with a scalloped Nestabilities and mounted onto two shades of red card. To complete the card it is embellished with pearls, chiffon ribbon and a little heart.

I really appreciate all the comments and e-mails that I receive from my followers, thank you very much!!

Birthday cards

After an absolutely perfect day in Cape Town yesterday we have a cooler one today. This is a short post as I have loads of stamping to get done for a number of swaps that I have joined as well as birthday cards to make.

The stamp on this card is from an Inque See-D's set and I have used Nestabilities and a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Have a happy day! It is hard to believe that Janaury is almost over!

I've been published

Hope you had a great weekend! Winter returned to Cape Town and we had 50mm of rain, hopefully there will be no water restrictions this summer.

I am pleased that 2 of my recent swaps have been published in the Nov/Dec 2009 Craftwise Magazine. The Luscious Lime ATC is pictured above. The stamp is a Crafty Individuals one and I have used Nesties and a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the card.

The other item published is my Altered Embroidery Bobbin, I posted pictures of the swap here:

Birthday Card

It is frightening how quickly the weeks are flying by at the moment, hope you have a great, productive week!

I made this card for Tilly's birthday that is coming up in about 6 weeks and gave it to her when she was visiting from New Zealand. The image is from a new Inkadinkado clear set that I bought from Frantic stamper and I have used my Nestabilities and Cuttlebug as you can see from the photo. The image was coloured using tombows and Stickles glitter glue and I embellished the lace with bling and pearls to add some more sparkle to the card.

My next post will be my first card made using a digital stamp, so as they say ...... watch this space!

I am very excited as I will be appearing as a Guest Designer on the Digital Two for Tuesday blog in January. More on this in January...

Chunky book pages

Hope you are all having a great weekend! I will be on the cricket field this morning for Nic's U13A Cricket match and this afternoon I am off to Amanda's for Tilly's visit from New Zealand. I will post photo's of our get-together.
These are the pastel chunky book pages that I made for our club night last month. I used a Crafty Individuals clear set for the birds and the cage and they were stamped in grey Vivid ink - Cobblestone, the quote is from a Heidi Grace clear stamp set and is stamped with Black Brilliance. I have used rectangular Nestabilities and a Cuttlebug bird embossing folder. The bling are gorgeous self-adhesive cell phone stickers that I bought from a local Chinese shop.

Pizza box and circular card

Another fabulous idea from WCMD. This time Gail used her Scor-Pal to show us how to make a mini pizza box which contained a gorgeous circular card made with the Nestabilities and Cuttlebug. This would make a stunning teacher's present if you filled the box with cards for teachers to use.

Christmas in July

I had to make 11 of these cards for a Cuttlebug Christmas in July swap recently. The stamp is from a local company Stamp 'n Stuff who have a great website with a shopping cart, which makes shopping really easy. The image is stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate.
Unfortunately the photo is not a good one and I am going to try to improve the quality of my photo's in future, thanks to Jowilna for the tips. The card is actually white and red.

Birthday cards

I love cupcake stamps and here are a couple more birthday cards with cupcakes. The lilac one is coloured with Tombows and stickles glitter glue and the pink one was stamped onto scrapbook paper, the paper case was cut out and adhered onto the same image stamped onto white cardstock. The cards have been finished with card embossed with the Cuttlebug and Nestabilities shapes

Birthday cards

These are some more birthday cards that I made this year using a gorgeous little tree stamp from the Imaginisce Snag 'em stamps clear range which I purchased from Frantic stamper. Again I have used my favourite toy - the Cuttlebug to complete the cards with embossed backgrounds and Nestabilities shapes.

Here are some birthday cards that I am currently making. I just love that Impression Obession cupcake stand. I stamped it with Mememto Tuxedo and coloured the cupcakes with tombows and a touch of Stickles glitter.

ATC - 3D Collage

This ATC is my latest for a 3D Collage swap. I used an Impressabilities for the embossed background. The tag is stamped with Prima newsprint clear stamp and Vivid taupe ink. The flower is stamped with Prima damask clear stamp and Vidid tea rose ink. The flower is cut using the Nestabilities blossom die cuts, it is then stamped, the edges are sponged with the same ink, crumpled up and re-opened and assembled with a small punched out flower and half pearl in the centre. The card is finished off with silk flowers, half pearls, lace, fibres and punched leaves as shown in the photo.
I have been stamping up a storm lately. Cape Town has been very cold and wet - just the perfect stamping weather. I am participating in and hosting lots of swaps running up to the end of the year. This week I have worked on 4 different sets of ATC's and hope to finish them all by the end of the weekend - a total of 66 ATC's. I also need to make a pile of birthday cards and get started on my 6 club night chunky book pages. We are taking a week's holiday next week so I want to be finished before we leave for warmer climates. Chat to you soon!

Cuttlebug Christmas in July swap

I had fun using some of my Christmas Cuttlebug embossing folders and Nesties in this recent swap. The image is from Stamp 'n Stuff a local South African stamp producer with a great on-line shopping website - http://www.stampnstuff.co.za/.
