Quick Father's Day card

Hello again.  My Dad will be having a spine operation tomorrow and hopefully that will sort out his inability to walk, so please pray for a successful recovery for him.

I am sharing a quick Father's Day card that was one of those made for orders.  The embossing folder is a great one for men's cards and the sentiment is a LOTV stamp.

Have a great day and keep warm if you are in Cape Town, it has been really cold and wet.

Quick card

Happy Monday!  I am looking forward to our stamping group get together tonight, I always come home very inspired to make cards.

Here is a very quick thank you card that I had to put together in about 5 minutes the other day.  I used the Cuttlebug thank you embossing folder and butterfly die and the Nellie Snellen border die.

Have a great week!

Quick card

Here is a quick and simple card made using my Cuttlebug. The base card is turquoise and the white layer was made using 2 different embossing folders and lines are scored at the edge of each embossing. The ribbon is mounted in the blank space with a little pearl buckle. The wording is stamped in turquoise onto white and then mounted onto turquoise card. The card is finished off the Cuttlebug die cut in the top corner and a mulberry paper flower.

Wishing you a very Happy New Year and a prosperous, happy and healthy 2010. Take care over the long weekend.

Quick cards

Sorry I have not been posting much lately. Thank goodness I had a number of posts that I had scheduled for publication a while ago. I am busy with a huge tax job that I have been working on 12 hours a day for 2 weeks now, I am ready to e-file 2 of the returns tonight and have to complete a balance sheet of the last one before I e-file it. I am so relieved that it is almost over! And then I have to complete 4 swaps that I am participating in, in between my children starting exams in 10 days time and needing lots of help from Mom and the usual hecticness of last term of the school year .

This is a set of thank you cards that I made using the paint strips that you get from the hardware store. The images are stamped in black, matching ribbon is tied around the strip and then it is mounted onto co-ordinating card and onto the black folded card. Very quick and easy!

Quick cards

I have a section on my blog called "Quick cards", these are cards that take 10 minutes or less to make and will hopefully give you some inspiration for quick cards.

This is a quick mini card that I made for Amanda to go with her thank you gift for hosting us on Saturday. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and embellished the card as shown.

Watch this space in the next few days as I will post photo's of my system for ribbon storage, the ribbons were a bug-bear of mine for a while before I found this idea.

Birthday cards

My children go to an endless stream of parties, so I am kept on my toes as far as producing quick birthday cards goes. The kids hardly look at their cards so I don't want to spend much time on them. These are cards that I made for 2 eleven year olds who celebrated last weekend. Very quick and easy and basically they don't need any explanation.

Quick cuttlebug birthday card

Today I am loading a five minute card that I made for a 12 year old girl. I find that kids do not appreciate handmade cards, so I always try and do quick ones. I cuttlebugged the lilac paper with the Happy Birthday folder and cut out and embossed the butterfly using the butterfly Cuttlebug die. Using a corner rounder punch the background sheet and adhere it to a white folded card. Embellish the card with ribbon and mount the butterfly as shown in the photo. I used 2 ribbon flowers and diamante to decorate the butterfly. When making quick birthday cards I sometimes use paper flowers instead of the butterfly.

I have loaded some more of my favourite blogs and websites and will keep adding to the list, so check back often.

I am looking forward to the weekend even though I won't get much stamping done. What a beautiful part of the world that we live in!! We have had baboons along the road to school three or four times this week, they are such comical creatures! I must remember to stop and take photo's next time I see them. I am also very blessed to have such fabulous friends and family!!!
