Moo's

Happy Wednesday everyone! It is nearly weekend... For our April stamping club night we had to make Moo's for Mother's Day, this is my creation. The image is a Crafty Individuals one, or rather a small portion of the stamp. I have used one of the new Asian Cuttlebug folders to add some texture to the card and finished it off with a metal flower, pearls and ribbon.

I've been published

I've been spring cleaning (or should that be autumn?) with the focus on paper - clearing out the filing cabinet, sorting magazines etc and as a result there is plenty of recycling. A while ago I was asked for a list of the times that I have been published and I did not have one. So as I am sorting through magazines I am taking photos of my work published, am making a list and will share these with you

In the September/October 2009 issue of Craftwise three projects appeared:

We are celebrating another long weekend in South Africa which is fabulous!Hope you have a great weekend! I am feeling very satisfied with my decluttering, what a wonderful feeling!

Moo's - Music

This is a Moo that I made for a swap of 21 Moo's last year. I used an old music sheet as a background and sprayed it with Glitz Spritz and mounted it onto the main black cardstock. The dancing couple is an unmounted red rubber stamp from Frantic stamper, stamped in Brilliance black onto lilac card and the edges are sponged with the same ink. To finish off I have used black polka dot ribbon and a small mulberry paper flower.

This Moo was published in Craftwise Sept/Oct 2009 edition.

Moo - Sacred Heart

This is my contribution to a Moo - Sacred Heart swap that I participated in recently. We had to make 18 of them and as I did not have an appropriate rubber stamp for the main image I used a digital image. The background is made by swiping Adirondack Acrylic paint daubers cranberry and silver over the card stock and over stamping it with a clear stamp from Fiskars Romance clear stamp set and black Brilliance ink. The edges of the layers are also sponged with the same ink.

I've been published

I was published in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of Craftwise. Hayley hosted the Vintage Love Moo's swap and very kindly sent the Moo's in for publication. Seven of the sixteen Moo's appeared and mine is the landscape red and brown one in the bottom row.

Vintage Love Moo

I really enjoy making "Moo's". If you don't know what a Moo is, it is half a business card that measures 28 x 70mm. I had to make 17 of these, all the same.
The main card is dark brown which has a red layer over it. The image is portion of a Crafty Individuals stamp stamped on beige card using Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate. I used one of the small cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss the red card with portion of a square frame. I sponged over the embossing with Tim Holz's fabulous foam blending tool with Brilliance Pearlescent chocolate. A little strip of lace and a flat backed pearl complete the card.

Moo Cards

Moo’s have nothing to do with cows at all…….. they are half of a business card lengthways. The Moo measurement is 28mm x 70mm.

A very unusual shape to work on and I signed up for this swap before checking the size. I was taken aback by the long shape when I did grab the ruler. The theme for the swap was “Sweet Child of mine” and this stamp immediately came to mind. It is a large stamp and I was holding thumbs that her face would fit on the card. What a relief when I tried and it fitted perfectly.

The stamp is from Stamp ‘n stuff a local South African company. I stamped her onto pink cardstock with Vivid taupe, she is matted onto white and then brown. The card is finished off with ribbon, a strip of Gina K Designs digital paper and 3 little gems.
