Chunky Book pages

Happy Monday everyone!
Here is the reverse of my chunky book page. I always like to put a quote to ponder on the back of my page as it makes paging through the completed book very interesting and sometimes entertaining. This quote is from an unknown author and reads: " Sure God created man before woman. But then you always make a rough draft before the final masterpiece."
The rose background is a Photo stamp from Darkroom Door stamped in Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid. The quote is printed onto Lables 11 Nestabilities and the beautiful scrolls are from the Spellbinders Fancy tags set and embellished with pearls.

Chunky Book pages

This the the front of my chunky book pages that I made for our club night this week. I stamped the image at Amanda so unfortunately don't know which company the stamp is from. I sponged the beautiful collage image with Brilliance Pearlescent Beige, Orchid and Purple and then used a Tim Holz mask and applied a flourish with Adirondack Acrylic dauber pearl over the page. The finishing touch is a bit of ribbon, silk flower and pearl.
Have a wonderful Sunday and Happy 4th of July to our American friends!

Chunky Book pages - Paisley and pastels

Paisley and Pastels chunky book pages. I used one of my favourite colours for these pages. The paisley stamp, dandelion and flourishes are from Hero Arts and I've used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Have a great week!

Chunky book pages - Typography

Chunky book pages for our typography chunky book. The stamps I used are from Great Impressions, Stampington, Penny Black and a couple of others that do not have the stamp company name on them. The images are stamped with Kaleidacolour Cappuccino Delight. On the back of the page I computer generated the background paper using dictionary definitions.

Have a great week, hope you get some stamping done!

Chunky Book pages - Cuttlebug book

Here is another chunky book page that I made for the Cuttlebug book. My Cuttlebug is the best papercraft item that I have ever purchased and I still love using it!
I used 4 different embossing folders and the oval Nestabilities on my page. For a change no stamping.
Have a wonderful day, it is nearly weekend!!! Our family is in the middle of exam preparation, roll on 27 May when they are finished!

Chunky Book pages - La Femme I

I would like to thank all my fellow bloggers for sharing their great work with us. When I am lacking inspiration I just love browsing through blogs. I suppose a few years ago we would have browsed through magazines now we browse blogs - which is so much better!!!
Today I am sharing the page that I made for La Femme Chunky book I, this book was for breast cancer awareness and you had to feature a corset/underwear on your page. I used stamps from Impression Obsession, Autumn Leaves and Paperchain.
Have a happy day!

La Femme Mystique Book IV

I recently participated in the last of a series of chunky books hosted by Benice. La Femme Mystique Book IV featured dressmaker's dummies and the brief was that you had to use black and/or white and a pastel colour. This is the front of the page.

Have a great week everyone! My children went back to school today so this morning has been lovely and quiet.

Chunky book page - Men

This is the reverse of the chunky book page - men. In keeping with the "Dapper snapper" theme I included an old photographic slide. The scrapbook paper is Cuttlebug embossed with the script folder. The tag is punched using a large Letack craft punch. The tag edges are sponged with TH Distress Ink Antique Linen and the flourish from Basic Grey is stamped with Brilliance Pearlescent beige. I loved the quote that I used on the tag: "If men can run the world, why can't they stop wearing neckties? How intelligent is it to start the day by tying a little noose around your neck? - Linda Ellerbee". The page is embellished with 3 strips of ribbon and bling.
Hope you have not been caught out too badly with April Fool's jokes!

Chunky Book page - Men

Hello! I am feeling a lot more relaxed now that it is school holidays and I just want to stamp but will have to negotiate with my family for some quiet time!!! I hope to grab a couple of hours stamping time today.

I am sharing the front of my chunky book page that I made for our club night. Our theme this year is people and we started with Men. The rubber stamp is from Crafty Individuals stamped in Brilliance black. I masked the man and camera and sponged the image with Brilliance Mediterranean Blue and Marvy Matchables Oriental blue. The edges are sponged with TH Distress Ink Antique Linen.

Have a happy day!

Christmas Vintage chunky book

Well all my Christmas decorations are packed away and the outside lights are down, it took me about 5 hours yesterday to do the task, so I had better post my chunky book page quickly. I participated in a Vintage Christmas chunky book last year and was asked to make the cover for the book, I enjoyed making this one even though I had to make 25 pages all the same.
The base card is cream with the edges sponged with Pearlescent chocolate Brilliance ink. The images are stamped in the same Brilliance and are from Crafty Individuals. On the outside cover I have matted the image onto dark green card, then onto a red Spellbinders pendant cut out of red card, this is mounted onto digital music with torn and sponged edges and lastly onto a brown card layer before being attached to the main page. The front is finished off with pearls.
The inside page shows another Crafty Individuals image sponged with Colorbox Cranberry and mounted onto green card, then mounted onto red card that has been Cuttlebugged with the holly folder, the page is finished off with an antique green flower with a pearl in the centre.
Gosh, I cannot believe how fast this year is going already. Have a great day!

Chunky book pages

Hope you are all having a great weekend! I will be on the cricket field this morning for Nic's U13A Cricket match and this afternoon I am off to Amanda's for Tilly's visit from New Zealand. I will post photo's of our get-together.
These are the pastel chunky book pages that I made for our club night last month. I used a Crafty Individuals clear set for the birds and the cage and they were stamped in grey Vivid ink - Cobblestone, the quote is from a Heidi Grace clear stamp set and is stamped with Black Brilliance. I have used rectangular Nestabilities and a Cuttlebug bird embossing folder. The bling are gorgeous self-adhesive cell phone stickers that I bought from a local Chinese shop.

Altered Embroidery Thread Bobbin book

I have just hosted an Altered Embroidery Thread Bobbin swap, the theme was "feminine". We had to make 25 bobbins all the same and everyone sent them to me. I then collated 25 little collections of bobbins which the participants will bind themselves. They have been returned to the participants in the post but with our current postal workers strike I am not sure when they will receive them back, so I decided to give everyone a little taste of their surprise package.

I put mine onto a 38mm binding ring and the bobbins fit perfectly. The front of my bobbin has been stamped with a Prima clear stamp and Vivid lavender ink. The edges have been sponged with Brilliance pink. The beautiful face is a small portion of a Crafty Individuals stamp stamped in Vivid Cobblestone and the edges are sponged with Brilliance pink, it is matted onto pink card. The decorative strip is achieved by adhering a strip of narrow double sided tape and sprinkling with Micro Beedz and glitter.

The reverse of the bobbin has been stamped with a clear Prima Newsprint background stamped in Vivid Cobblestone, the edges are sponged with Brilliance Pink. The flower image is from an Inkadinkado Inchie set called flower garden and has been stamped in Brilliance Pink and matted onto pink card. The little bobbin has been finished with three tiny pink gems.

The centre of the bobbin measures one inch, so it can be a challenge to work on such a small canvas. I thoroughly enjoyed making mine and just love my little book! Thank you to all the artists that contributed to this fabulous work of art!

Shoes and Handbag chunky book pages

Chunky book pages made for La Femme Shoes and Handbag chunky book hosted by Benice, I had to make 25 of these.

Pastel chunky book pages

These are chunky book pages that I am making for our club night pastel chunky book that will take six months to complete. Every second month we have to make a specific colour page.
